Truly kept by whom? Too often people put trust in others who should not be trusted to keep a promise, tell the truth, be loyal or faithful, etc.

Sometimes we have to take the blame for our own inappropriate decision to trust the people who should not be trusted. Only when our trust is betrayed by someone who would be seen as "trustworthy" are we, then, the victims. Otherwise, view trust, love, and compassion like your next breath. Who is worthy of your next breath?

That moment passed about fifty years ago, when people still had honor and decency and considered their word to be bonding. A handshake was a contract and real people didn't shirk their responsibilities. That time is long gone, from this point on, its only going to get worse.

you can never be sure a promise will be kept unless you make that promise . and even then ......even so , a true -hearted , honest , honorable person always keep her/his promises , it's the civilized way to be .that's why i made such few promises in my life , i only promised when i knew i could come through with them .
