why is it that we never know what we have got, until it is gone?

Because we take for granted all the little simple things in a relationship. Also when it is gone we tend to forget the bad things or are more able to justify them.

Good question. For me, when I think I have a good thing, it turns out to be I'm not so lucky though.
Maybe it's because you don't what is truely special about a person until they're gone, because you do more time thinking about the person, as for when you're together, you're not thinking about them, you're thinking about how you feel when you're with your partner.

Because we get used to what we have and forget what it was that got us there. We take advantage because we think it will never go, but it always will wether it be a loved one, a beautiful face or loud , crazy kids. Cherish what you have and remember that tomorrow is never promised.
