Many United State citizens are not putting up with the loss of freedoms. Just witness the ongoing issue with telephone monitoring by the U.S. government and the response to this. We want to feel safe yet at the same time want to be free to do what we will and say what we want. As far as turning into a police state I still do not get stopped by law enforcement to check my papers. I do not have to pass through checkpoints when driving to work. I want to travel to another state I do not have to clear this decision with any form of legal authority. We are far from a police state.

I have more freedom, now that I know the laws I can do more.
I have not lived in a Police State but am pretty sure that do not get to vote, own property- houses new cars & outrageously priced clothes. You can't say crazy things like this. No I am sure I do not live in a Police State & neither do you.

Because of society.
As for lost freedoms: Freedom of speech for one thing.
This 'political correctness' is getting rediculous.
