The question is not exactly clear - "the are not safe?" The people OR the Guns?
If - Guns - Then, Guns are safer nowadays then ever in history. Thats a Fact!

If - People - Then, all the more reason to posess and bear "guns" see below...

"the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed."
When "most" people ask a question that refers to "guns" as "not safe" they either have little to NO understanding of what a "gun" is, AND the concept of SELF preservation/protection. How many times have you heard of the Police getting to a crime scene BEFORE the crime.

Read the Book --- ( Never Before in History ) --- by
Dr. Gary Amos and Dr. Richard Gardiner
"Guns" and the right of the individual to posess and bear them are the very cornerstone of the Free World as we know it. NOT just the United States.

According to the National Crime Victimization
Survey (NCVS), almost 43.6 million criminal
victimizations occurred in 1993, including 4.4
million violent crimes of rape and sexual assault,
robbery, and aggravated assault. Of the victims
of these violent crimes, 1.3 million (29%) stated
that they faced an offender with a firearm.

Also, another idea is that America was founded with revolution in mind- if the government must be overthrown, or if it, or some other party, tries to force itself upon you or the country, then the country, or you, can fight back. Revolution is a good thing, it's what America is all about, fighting for your rights and protecting what you have.

Why do we let the Kennedys drive when they cause accidents? Why do we allow people breath air because if I person breathes nitrogen they could die? The undeniable fact of life is EVERYONE dies. Those of us who carry want to have a chance of walking away from a bad guy with a knife.

If you want to be a victim go ahead, but leave the rest of us alone

Everything is dangerous, that is why personal responsibility is so important.

are you assuming the weapons are unsafe, of the person who i buying it?
the gun is covered by the consumer protection acts. if it is unsafe it can and would be recalled. (regardless of what the news clams, the gun industry is only protected from being sued for the acts committed but the gun owners)
the people are assumed to be safe till they prove otherwise, same as being assumed Innocent till proven guilty in a court of law.

Because our government believes it's not in the position to say people can or can not own some dangerous things like guns. Cars kill many, many more people in guns, but they will never be outlawed.

The gun is just a tool. Just as a car is a tool. It all comes down to the user of that tool. So they know how to use it properly. They are both dangerous, but both useful in the right hands.
