Anytime you go way beyond the standard eating habit/process, whether it's extreme eating or bingeing or extreme staravation, then it becomes an eating disorder. Especially if you psychologically made yourself to believe that that kind of eating habit is the only way for you to go, then you have a problem. You mentioned that you "feel like a cow" when you do eat, that alone, is a warning sign that you are going down the path to an eating disorder. Besides, it is not healthy to skip meals, and it is not the best way to lose weight either. Skipping meals slows down your metabolism because you're body starts thinking it is starving, and therefore, your body will hold onto any available fat in your body for as long as it can to prevent starvation. So instead of losing the fat, it stays. Long-term starvation does indeed result in weight loss because your body cannot hold onto the fat for a long time, especially when it needs energy to burn to survive. You lose weight, as well as muscle tone, and a lot of nutrients and vitamins that you're body needs when you starve yourself. This result in anorexic complications, and your body starts to deteriorate in little ways. If you think that you are starting to feel like you are an anorexic, seek medical/clinical help. A lot of people die from anorexia - yes, people die from it, and it's no joke.

If you're simply trying to lose weight, try to do six small meals a day instead of just eating one big meal at the end of the day. It's called "grazing" - you eat little snacks that are healthy and filling but won't make you feel bloated or too full. You do that every 3 hours or so, and you will not feel hungry or won't crave for those naughty fatty foods. Also, exercising can suppress the appetite and make you feel good as well. One thing too that I notice about your eating habit is that you eat dinner, but no breakfast or lunch. That is a big mistake because your metabolism is at its peak during the day - when you're active and moving around - but it slows down by the end of the day as your body starts preparing for bedtime and rest. So if you eat a big meal during dinner, you won't burn the calories as much compared to when you eat breakfast and lunch, it will be easier to burn the calories off. So think about it. Your weight loss regimen is really not doing you any good. If you are confuse about how you should go about your weight loss project, consult a dietician or a nutritionist who can guide you to what's the safest, best, and fastest way to lose that extra weight you want to keep off.

Goodluck to you!

ok honey breath you are ok I promise I can honestly tell you that you do not have an eating disorder and I can say this because I used to have one so NO you do not. But now that I am over mine let me give you a few tips so when you do eat you don't eat so much... I don't eat breakfast either for the same reason you don't so you are not alone there however you cannot let your body go all day without something so about 2 or 3 eat a small sanck like string cheese wheat thins something heathy then when dinner comes around you won't eat so much ok. you will feel better too you will have a little more energy, and hey your friends will stop giving you so much greif too.

you are anorexic (spelling). What that does actually is it does not simply just keep the weight off. It actually eats your muscle tissue--so what LITERALLY happens is that when you do eat and you finally will eventually once you start coughing up blood. You will get fatter because your body is losing muscle mass so you are doing the exact opposite of what you want to do- In place of the muscle tissue lost your body puts fat tissue. then you will stop eating again and you will get fatter again. ask any doctor or read any book at a library if you are scared to ask. What you should be concerned about is why you have so much self hate or dislike (hate is very strong) go see a therapist -stop now before it gets out of control and talk to someone you trust. i know because i watched a room mate go through it and all she did was skip breakfast and lunch soon you will get the shakes if not already. you will find out --

Not eating is a bad idea and can actually make you gain weight. Because you only eat one meal your metabolism slows down making it harder to burn calories. Your body is in starve mode and will probably start holding onto whatever fat comes its way. The best option would be to eat 5 times a day. It will build your metabolism. You eat breakfast, a small healthy snack, lunch, a small healthy snack, and dinner. Then excercise three to four times a week for at least 30 mintues and you will be healthy. I have done this routine since January and have lost weight and have felt so healthy. I am thin (115 lbs) and am in the best shape of my life. What you are doing now to your body is not healthy and you will have health and weight problems later on in life.

I dont necessarily think you have an eating disorder. I do the same thing. I skip breakfast and lunch and eat a sensible dinner and it has helped me to lose a little weight. I certainly dont think of myself as having a eating disorder. It depends on your weight. If on the other hand you were at or below your healthy weight and continued to do this i might think you were at risk of becoming anerexic but it sounds to me like you eat a healthy dinner and are not trying to starve yourself. I wouldnt worry about it too much unless you stop eating or are eating like a bird. and try not to feel guilty when you do eat, even though i know at times its hard, especially if you are over weight.

You answered your own question : you do have the signs of Anoriexia Nervosa......been there; done that !! I still fall back into the bad habit of not eaitng but you can only get help for this when you admit that you truly have a problem. Besides what we see in the mirror is only what we WANT to see & sometimes it isn't what is actuallt there..............ask someone you trust for their opinion but above all please eat small healthy snacks (fruit, raw veggies) don't fall down the rabbit hole that I did. I ended up with cardiac, intestinal, and now lung problems & I realize that I onlt have myself to blame for the current status of my health & the decline. I wish you the best of luck & not to sound hokey but mu thoughts & prayers are with you !!!!
