I did the same thing. Started spotting and cramping went to hospital on July 4th, was having contractions, dilated to 3 and then everything stopped. Finally had baby on the 7th. That was the 1st baby......You can start dilating early and go for days or even a week or two before you have the baby. Walk alot to help labor.......This is only my experience......Good Luck
Having sex can help get started too.....

I stayed at 3 cm's for 2 1/2 weeks before I gave birth. You diilate to 10 cm's. It took me 6 1/2 hours to dilate, then 3 pushs and 6 min. later my new son was here. Of course I was on every drug they could give me. LOL!! Anyway, Congratulations. And always be ready..

I was dilated to a 2 for about six weeks before my doctor induced the baby. Many people only start dilating right before they go into labor. Everyone is different and every pregnancy is unique.

Hi due date wise I would say you could go into labor at any time but dialation is hard to guess I was 2cm dialated for two months. In my non dr. opinion pressure and pelvic pain are just part of the pregnancy experience you have a 6-9 pound thing in there that your not used to packing around so it put's pressure on everything.

You can go into labor anytime after your 36th week, therefore, you could give birth 2 weeks before your due date, or two weeks after, so you are ready anytime now, if you are really trying to go into labor, you should have sex, no, I am not joking nor am I trying to make a joke, especially that you are dilated already... Sex, will make you go into labor, and it does not harm your baby in anyway.. It simply breaks your water... and spicy food.. this was recommended to me when I was like you and it really worked.. me and my husband got busy and made it our business to let the baby know, we meant business, and then after that, i had some spicy Chinese food, and BAM, that same night, my water broke.... good luck..

You can dialate in no time flat. As for due dates, dont believe them. They just give you a rough estimate, but when push comes to shove, the baby will come when it's ready, not a doctor. You can start labor anytime- especially since you feel pressure- that means tha baby has dropped. Wait until you get contractions, or your water breaks before you head to the dr.

That's a hard question to answer, kuz stupid people will just give you a number of days like it's a fact. First of all you should know that all women's labors are different and can last several hours to several weeks (inactive labor). You are in inactive labor right now, and it could be days to weeks untill you are in active labor, and once you are, your guess as to how soon the baby will be born is as good as mine.

That's a funny question, it could take minutes, hours, or days to fully dilate to 10 cm. Good Luck, it is all worth it.

you could go anytime 2 weeks before, or 2 weeks after your due date. Whatever the original due date the doc gave you is the one they will go by. Unless your measurements are way off.. like more than 2 weeks ..for example
My baby measured 3 weeks ahead, and I was induced later that week, but they never changed my DD.
