they would have to really pay attention to what the politcians are saying as well as impling. Today, we live in such a fast paced world that it tends to be easier to let the other person take care of that part for us.

Don't think people in general are ignorant but just don't care with all corruption going on with the voting like the last time why should anyone keep informed. I mean we all should have just one vote per person yet this electoral vote come in the picture and vola Mr. Bush is elected. I'm perty damn old and been paying attention or at least trying to but as they say the most corrupt government in the world is our own, making us believe we live in a free country is all just an illusion. We have no rights, we have no freedom and we have no say so, we live a government the is base on our financial status by how we grease our polititions and making favors. Just look for youself big corporation such as Exxon, Chevron, Johnson and Johnson, and many more, just because they allow us to address our grievences out in the open dose not by any means give any more freedom then that. Like the old saying they give us just enough rope to hang ourselves, meaning you cause enough trouble you will have an accident. Here's to the belief,to the cause, to the hope and prayers the constitution will make the stand it was originally was made to do, protect and serve our freedom.

You overgeneralise the voting populations of the world here. Not "everyone" does this. You should have a look at some of the voting statistics in countries around the world. You will see that not everyone is uninterested. You seem to be quite the cynic.

They believe that as long it doesn't mess with them people are happy to be ignorant in the area of politics. And those who chose to whine about the way our gov is being run, then they should shut up or vote.

What can be even worst is that people follow a crowd and not really know what is going on! The Bandwagon Syndrome. People hear what they want to hear and only when they want to hear it. If you want something to change it takes a lot of work and dedication that people today don't want to do. It's the whole instant gratification thing. I wonder if our forefathers are rolling in their graves?

Because they are so caught up in their own lives that they ignore their Government operations, and do need to get involved even on a local level to insure our way of life. I hope this question originated from the US.

Because there are now only two viable choices, and their beliefs aren't that far apart. When you're having to vote for the "lesser of two evils" the appeal of voting is gone.

Because it is easier to complain. And sometimes..even if you vote, it doesn't get counted....if the Governor of that state is the brother of the man running for pres.

Oh, and then they complain about the fools who have been voted in. IF YOU DON'T VOTE, YOU DON'T HAVE A RIGHT TO COMPLAIN. (IMO). People are lazy and ignorant.

People are ignorant because they don't care...but then again, I hate when they don't involve themselves, then all they do is complain about what's happening. ERR!
