Sounds like you are in to Mexican Food. The two best rated hole in the wall Mexican Food places in Sac are Vallejo's at 14th and O near the Capital and Emma's Taco House in West Sacramento. I've had both and they are about as authentic as they come. I think the chips are a bit more manufactered at Emma's.
Vallejos has been the top rated for a few years so try there. The enchiladas are fabulous.

I don't know of that particular dish, but there are plenty of places that can be close to or even better than home made. For instacne I live in Washington, D.C. and by relation, my Dad is Jamaican and my mon is from North Carolina, so I have a huge array of food that I like to cook.
Now in D.C. there are a lot of Caribbean food spots that come close to what my dad taught me but no quite. On the other hand there are really no southern restaurants that cook like home cooking, everything is so gourmet. I don't like going to restaurants that cook southern nouveau. I like it othe way it's supposed to be.
But what you can also do is go on the internet and check out restaurants in your area and one weekend take a tour of them and eat at about 2 or 3 to find your favorite. Me and my girlfriends do it all of the time.

Here, in Arizona, there are many small, Mexican restaurants where the food is home made. There are also a couple of Italian restaurants that taste as good as home made.
Well, you can always find out in the newspaper reviews, and by word-of-mouth what restaurants are really good. (Even if the food is not quite as good as your own, it's the atmosphere that counts when dining out). :)

If you do it right Homemade is the obvious choice. But it sounds like you like Mexican food so try El Faro Mexican Restaurant. The food is delicious and the portions are heaping (almost too much) but the price is right very affordable and very authentic.

I prefer to eat more at home than to actually go out. I like the intimacy that eating at home provides. And its much more inexpensive. Another reason I like eating at home is because if I fix something, then I know what I have put in it. You don't know those facts when you go out to eat.

Nothing beats homemade food, eatting out is just more convenient, but usually a lot more expensive and higher in calories and fat.

I know a few good places but homemade is always better if you know what you're doing.

nothing is as good as home made. we use our ingredients fresh, resturants use frozen stuff, or old out of date to better their profits.
