Because free market capitalism (big business) has lifted more people out of poverty and into prosperity and health and wealth than any other economic system. The poor in the US have more than most people do in the rest of the world. And in a free-market society, more poor people get out of poverty because of the opportunities.

Business = prosperity, wealth, opportunity = good for human life

Big business is only important in Capitalistic countries. If you think something else would work better, go to that country. You might not like it though. They usually keep all the money for themselves like Saddam's 38 palaces. Socialism would work but you would not be able to get rich unless you were government or politically supportive. A capitalistic country is the only place where someone like you and me can make a fortune no matter what you moralistic values are.
If you would like big business to contribute, and many do... get rich yourself and give to the poor.

because human life is cheap in there eyes and easily replaced, where as money!!!!!!!!!
someone can comit murder and another fraud guess who usually gets the longer sentence in the u.k?
