Some facial cleansers contain uric acid, some contain urea. The solubility of uric acid in water is extremely low (1 part acid in 15000 parts water), so it's inclusion may be "cosmetic" or it may be there as a by-product of another reaction. Urea is often included in facial cleansers - there is evidence that it assists in wound healing and antisepsis, it is a good hydrotrope (helps to dissolve oil fats in water) and helps to retain moisture at the skin surface. It is also purported to have a "cooling" effect on skin.

it is a weak acid and weak acids are good at cleaning the face(like salicyclic acid). uric acid is named because it is found in small amounts in urine. urine is not named after uric acid, it is named after urea which is also found in our sweat.
