Just stand by them. Cry if they need to cry, help them be strong when they are down, SUPPORT, SUPPORT SUPPORT....You can be more rational in your position than that person, they are very venerable and weak right now probably trying to keep up a good front for there loved one but inside be in such torment. Keep spirits up and do whatever they need you to do!!!!!! It can loose a loved one one day, just hope someone is there for you.........

It would be best to exhibit a caring, empathic position without being dramatic, or too overbearing. If your crush wishes to discuss the situation, be a good listener. Position your body to face the other person. Lean in, show your concern, offer to take their hand and hold it. Provide a hug if necessary. When someone is in a stage of hurt, they will exhibit many behaviors from shock, sadness, to anger. Every day may be a different reaction to something that occured. If you are close to your crush and feel the need to cry, by all means cry. Just make sure you keep your focus on your crush. When your crush is ready to be "cheered up," they will let you know.

Neither

You provide a shoulder for them to cry on, you have to be strong for them during this time. Provide support and when possible assist in gettting things done, like grocery shopping, picking up prescriptions or whatever so that they can spend the necessary time with the loved one.

BOTH! Someone in that situation is on an emotional rollercoaster. Crying can be a huge relief at times. Just be there for them. Let them feel what they are feeling and respond accordingly.

Just be there for them. Be there to cry with them and also be there to cheer them up.

Cry with them. I'm a serious minded person,
and if my boyfriend tried to cheer me up at
that time, I would have dropped him. Like a
hot rock. Laugh later.
