Donate them to the troops serving Overseas. I am sure you could easily find companys or individuals who would be willing to ship them over to the troops. Being a Military service member myself I can tell you it would be greatly appreciated.

I cut the pictures and articles I like in them and put all in a notebook. It is like a memory line for me. I do this for years and when I look at that notebook I see what used to interest me a couple years ago and what was the important events back then etc.. I recycle the left out parts...

You can recycle them (the obvious answer) or you can take them to a local magazine/book swap. They often have such areas in public libraries or even at town landfills where you can leave your old reading materials and even pick up a new one! Hope this helps.

Offer them to local Dr and dentist offices or any place that you frequent often that has a waiting area. If you have children, I know my son's daycare liked getting magazines so the kids could cut them up for projects.

Maybe there is place that want want them.
A local gun club might like the Gundog mags. The hairdresser may take your old Redbook.
Maybe a friend might like them.

You could donate them to any place that you may have appointments where you have to sit and wait for a period of time. Just think about where you would want something to read over while you are waiting. Examples are: doctors offices, vet clinics, mechanic shops, hospitals, nursing homes, hair dressers, dialysis clinics, lawyers offices, etc....

Be benevolent. Donate them to Hospitals or Libraries.
You might be able to claim a charitable deduction for it.
Or, create a charitable remainder annuity trust for the benefit of your local hospital or library.

start an organized collection of special issue or special ads, articles, displays etc. I am sure you dont need to keep everything that is composed in the magazine. It's your call though!

--Recycle them
--there is a yahoo group -- freecycle.com -- find your city, and post an ad -- maybe somebody can use them for crafts or projects, or something
--also, there are hospitals that accept magazines -- the non profits, and the children's hospitals usually appreciate mags.
If nothing else, recycle them -- they will get reused somewhere

Give them to a local homeless shelter, nursing home, library or hospital for others to read, or to a school or day care to use in craft projects.
