I am a pilot from India also qualified as a mechanical engineering. I am 27 and currently earning more than enough salary (by my defination) which I am saving up. I want to work as a pilot for another 20-25 years then I want to start my own automobile workshop and further develop some mechanical systems that I planned/designed as an engineering student.

I am fully commited to aviation and automobiles and girls picture nowhere in my future plans,, that said, I do not want to marry neither I want to have any relationships with girls.. I am only focussed on my dream. Why don't my parents understand this? they want me to get married and have children...
Mr. Ratan Tata and Dr . Abdul Kalam are my role models who have decided to pursue higher dreams by sacrificing the pleasure of family and companion

Its alright to have a nice cute family BUT NOT ME... I am different,, but even my friends have started to think I am gay

It is not too common that people have such a strong dream they are not interested in creating a family for themselves. But you seem to know your own mind - you are well educated and are not so young you may not realize what you truly want. It IS your life - no different than if you had decided to become a priest. I think you should explain to your family that a family of your own is not in your plans at this time, nor can you picture it in the future. Don't worry about what conclusions others want to jump to - sexuality should be private and not open for public discussions! I wish you much success with your dream!

wish my parents were like yours I am 21 married with one child and one on the way (have yet to tell mom or dad as even though i am married and have my own life they will make me feel like i am doing the wrong thing) and all they have ever done is push me to be is a vet---I no longer want that as vets dont do as much with animals as i want instead i will be a RVT.....

as someone answered one of my questions: just ask them: mom, dad do u think u did a good job rasing me?? Then say OK! then how about letting me live my life I will Allways Love u and be there cause u are my parents BUT! now it's my turn to make some choices and decide how i want to live.....

and to your friends--- if they are your friends they should understand

best of luck

Because of your culture, it's natural that your parents long for you to get married. But you are 27 years old....and you don't depend financially from your parents, so why are you so worried?

Your time will come, never say never.

Good luck

It's lonely at the top.
Unless you are gay, the right woman just hasn't
walked your way. When and if she does you
will know what everyone is talking about.
Metal makes a cold life mate.

I don't think there is an explanation needed, it's your life and not theirs. The next thing I would be worried about would be them thinking you are gay. If you are, tell em. If not, clear the air.

I think you are smart! Who cares what your parents think. They will get over it in time. They should be happy that your happy. Marriage is not all that great, i think it's better to focus on your dreams!
