I'm Vietnamese as well (half, anyway), and while I don't think EVERY nail salon I go to employs only Vietnamese people, a lot do.
It's a catch 22 with it for me, though. While I detest seeing "my people" crouching in the little stools servicing the (mainly) caucasian clients, I would only go to a Vietnamese run salon because I'd rather my money stay in the community.

I think, the real question you should be asking is why do the owners of nail salons, seem to only hire Vietnamese workers? Maybe this is a question you should be asking the owner or manager of the establishments. In my area most of the workers are Korean or from an Oriental Asian Community. In the work environment they seem to be more unity, as they all speak a common language and they have the same work ethics. I think you should satisfy your curiosity by asking, and not guessing. After all you may also be surprised to learn a lot of the workers are also family members and friends.

A lot of people stereotype the vietnamese in this way. I know someone whose family does own a nail place, she is vietnamese. But I also know another vietnamese who does not... Just another stereotype...

The problem lies within the word "think," fact is no, every nail salon is not staffed by vietnamese.

House87..i don't think this is another stereotype...they just know how to get the nails done really nice...i have noticed that, the only problem is that sometimes i can't understand what they are saying cause they speak really low!!

IM VIETAMESE 2. i do my own nails somtim. Wen i go 2 a salon i get a hookup so i can i get my don free.
