Thats not a virus, its IE slowly killing your system because they take up so much memory.
Get http://www.mozilla.com instead if you have low memory. And clean your disk a bit. You might want to get more memory and do a scan on your computer to get rid of viruses and spywares.
Also go to your start menu, then RUN. Type msconfig and under the startup tab, get rid of some programs that are in your startup. It might make your PC faster.

Visit the anti virus sofware websites and see if they have a virus fix for the known virus you might have. You must first identify the virus you have.
If you can run your anti virus software, you are probably ok. If you don't, turn off your system restore, put the computer on 'safe mode' and run your anti virus software. That way, the virus isn't operating and your anti virus can get rid of it. If you don't turn off system restore, system restore will hold it only to release it again when you return to normal operation.
I had a nasty download trojan earlier this year that the anti virus software companies didn't know about yet. I had to buy hard drive wiping software and reinstall all my software to include the operating system. It was a nightmare but there was no other way around it.

Close all the Internet Explorer windows. Run Ad-aware Antispyware software (you can download it from www.download.com). Mostly it will clean the spyware which affects Internet Explorer.
After scanning and cleaning, restart the computer. Check whether the problem exists.
If the problem exists, Try scanning with Spybot-Search and Destroy Software (download it from www.download.com).
If the above solutions are not working, then, use Opera or Mozilla browsers.

Go to www.grisoft.com and download AVG Antivirus. It's free, and should clear up any virii you have on your system. You'll also want to do a search for Spybot Search and Destroy to get rid of any spyware on your computer. ZoneAlarm is a good firewall that you can download free, to prevent hackers from attacking your system.

Go to control panel to ad or remove software and left click on it twice. Then click on remove, and a window will come up asking you to repair it. Click to repair and that should do the trick. Also you should at least once a month do a defrag on your computer.
Also you should consider getting Mozilla as your browser.
