When I was pregnant, I would eat anything that I could put hot sauce on. Totally normal, but yeah- the heartburn will keep you up every time. I usually tried to curb the spicy foods in the evening and save them for earlier in the day, this seemed to help me.
And don't listen to these folks saying it's bad for your baby... it's FINE! Oh, and in support of the lady who said it might be a boy because of the spicy cravings... mine was a boy too!
Best of Luck!

Spicy food will definitely give you heartburn when you're pregnant, but I couldn't stay away from it when I was carrying my daughter! All I ever wanted was Salsa Verde Doritos!! Just try not to eat anything spicy in the evening, and you should be okay. Also go to Sams and get a ginormous bottle of TUMS.

Yea, I can see why that happened. A baby will tell immediately if the food you eat disagrees with the baby. At three months, the baby won't kick (or enough to where you can feel it), but your body will be sick.
Later in the pregnancy, your baby will immediately start kicking if it does not like the food you just ate.
Stay away from spicy food. If you can imagine, a baby's stomach lining is not as strong as yours, and what spicy food could have an effect on the little one's stomach.

If you can then go for it! I can't eat hot spicy stuff because I have suffered from indigestion and heartburn in this pregnancy and its been terrible. There is nothing wrong with eating hot food, Enjoy it while you can, You don't know if indigestion/heartburn is just around the corner. I never suffered from it before pregnancy so had no idea what it was when I first started experiencing it. Good luck xx

It is common to crave spicy food when pregnant. It is also extremely common to keep you up with heartburn! Tums and milk help a lot.
And it is ONLY a wivestale about it being a boy when you crave spicy food. I craved it all three my pregnancies and I have 1 boy and 2 girls!

I wanted Mexican food CONSTANTLY. I had a couple of fajitas doused with hot sauce before I went to the hospital to deliver my baby and I had indigestion ALL 18 hours that I was in labor. I carried Tums around 24/7. That way I could eat the spicy foods and not be in pain. Congrats!

Yea, spicy foods didn't work for me either when I was pregnant. I had heart burn all the time. Try spicy foods at the very end of your pregnancy. It's supposed to help induce labor.

Did you have stomach pains or something? I love spicy food, especially mexican, so when I got pregnant, this is the first question I asked my doctor. He said if you eat foods like this when you are pregnant, the baby will be more use to them during breastfeeding and later when they eat solids. Now my daughter loves mexican, so it worked out great.
He also said though, I could eat what I wanted (excluding the obvious, like alcohol, excessive caffeine, etc...) as long as it wasn't hurting me or the baby. If the food is giving you gas or upsetting the baby, I'd stop!

I craved spicy food too! And to tell you the truth, I had more heartburn with the PLAIN food. If you aren't getting heartburn, don't worry about it, if so, keep a big bottle of Tums next to your bed. Not only that, keep your head elevated a little higher than normal, that helped me some.

Probably heartburn. Don't eat spicy before you go to bed. I ate spicy food all through both of my pregnancies and both my kids are fine and love spicy food. It really varies from woman to woman.
