my sister is incredibly smart. but the thing is she is popular too. she said that bieng smart is another way to get firneds jsut as long as you dont be to snobby ans show how smart youare. she siad another way to get to the top of the piramid of popularness is bieng at least a little bit smart cause if your stupid then youll be less honered by the peers, your firneds and teachers. is it true that bieng smart is god while bieng popular?

I definitely think that she is right. When I was in school, I graduated in 2004, I went to an all girls private school. There were a lot of cliches. Jocks only hung with jocks, stoners with stoners, brains with brains, dancers with dancers. You know how that is. But I was a high honor roll dancer, who played softball, and was a rebel at times. The fact that I wasn't showy about being smart made it so people liked me, and the fact that I was smart made it so I had a mind of my own. I hung out with everyone and didn't let people tell me who my friends should be. The whole point of school is to get an education and graduate. Being popular just makes it a little more bearable. Yes, it true that being smart is a key to popularity. It is great to have a good knowledge of different topics. This will help you have good conversation skills. It is nice to be able to join a conversation and have a value to your input. Most people like to listen to someone that can carry a conversation. It is also a plus for you in any academic situation. Learning will always have a positive out come in your life. Your sister is correct in telling you that being a snob and showing off your smarts is a turn off. People like to be informed but no one like to be made to look dumb. it is a balance. If you want your peers to admire you learn new things and share what you learn. the more you show your humbleness during these times that more admired you will be.

Being smart is good as long as, like your sister said, you aren't snobby about it. But it's not the only thing that's good- being generally friendly is the best way to be "popular" in the long run- in my experience the girls who were popular but mean when I was in middle school all have no friends now. THe most popular people later in life are the nice ones. And the charismatic ones.

im smart and so is older sis and she has ton of friends cause she nice 2 them and i cant even count how many friends she has. people in my class would ask me questions on somethin cause they know that im smart. this 1 girl said that im really smart.
