he could possibly still start this year if he goes with the 8 week recovery, and he feels well by september. - i would say its a longshot for them to do much if he is not well by the time august gets here, and if he does not start the first 2-4 games, i think their chances are slim to nill

Yes, Ben will be back. Based on preliminary reports the injuries to his knees were minor and there was no damage to spine, neck, back or brain. A jaw can be fixed and teeth can be replaced. Although it may be hard for him to get his respect back after making a boneheaded decision to ride without a helmet. Steelers may take a year to make it back to the Super Bowl but it will be done again...with Big Ben at the helm!

NO. he's a hard a hard nosed QB. an injury off the field isn't gonna change that. once he puts on a helmet and gets hit for the first time he'll be fine and the same old Big Ben of old

It all depends on the type of fractures he sustained in the accident. If the upper jaw is fractured, then I doubt he makes a return anytime soon. As it is, even if he has a simple broken jaw, his mouth will be wired for about 7 weeks. A liquid diet for that long will affect him. He probably won't be the same as last year. I'm not even mentioning the fact he broke the left sinus cavity. Will he be able to breath as easily is another big question.

well first, everyone knows that a Superbowl team typically returns to have a mediocre year after they win. Camp starts in one month, and I doubt he will be out there doing too much. They mentioned his knee on the news today...I don't know what's wrong with it, but in QB talk, that's bad.
Either way, he's 24, has a SB ring on his finger, makes how many millions, and has how many girls riding his jock? I'm sorry it happened, but if you're going to put that much in danger doing ANYTHING stupid, you deserve what you get.

I hope he will be ok because even though I am not a Steeler fan... you gotta love them for turning up the heat at the end of the season and into the playoffs to go to the Superbowl. If he is out for the season so will the Steelers chances to make another run!

I'm sure he'll be back for the season. It's amazing how fast they can get them prepared after something like that to play. And since there wasn't any brain damage or more serious internal injuries I'm sure he'll bounce back fairly quickly.
Let's just hope he learned his lesson and becomes an advocate for wearing helmets now.

I think he will play football again but I think his better days are unfortunately behind him now. Those are some SERIOUS injuries he got and if he rushes to get back on the field - he may damage his body in ways that he will never be able to recover from.

No, he is Too big for the Steel City to not play, he will get a slap on the hand, return to the field, and forget about it all.

he's gonna be fine for the season and he knows that riding without a helmet was the biggest mistake of his life to date and i don't think he will ever go back on his word...at least not until he retires...
