Religious belief set aside- it depends on the situation.
Rape-option-a crime was committed and you should be able to decide whether or not you can deal.
No bc used/Unreliable bc used-not an option-you didn't protect yourself deal with the consequences of your choice and give the baby up for adoption and make someone childless happy.
Serious birth defects-option-it's about the quality of life for the child and what possible complications the mother could have along the way.
Reliable bc failed/not a good time/really don't want to have kids- one time option-handle your business and don't let this happen again. Abortion should not be used as a form of bc.
Religious beliefs still aside- Overall it "technically" is a "safe" procedure. As with any other medical procedure, there are risks and you don't know what can happen or how your body will respond. Infertility, death, messed up insides, messed up mind. Is it worth the risk?

Bad: Its murder. Its morally and ethically wrong. In the long run you will regret there actions, and long for a baby that they litteraly killed. The quilt will stay with you forever. Abortions are painful. Abortions could result in infertility later on.
Good: Hummm based on the bad, can there be any good? If so I dont see it.
**I believe abortion to be morally wrong, and murder, however, I do find it a choice of the women. I dont support it, but who am I or anyone to tell another what to do? kinda like same sex marriage.
***Alot of folks may say rape is the only reason to abort, however I disagree. The baby didnt hurt you, and while it will be hard on the person raped, the long run pain will be worse. Abortion-Rape, is in my opinion a cop-out. There are too many good couples out there desperetly wanting a child.
If your asking for yourself, make the decision from your heart, and not based on the opinions of others. Think about what you can live with in the end, and most of all, realize that the baby didnt ask for this. Babies are a gift from God, and you have been blessed. Best of luck to you!!

Abortion is out of the question for me! Its murder reguardless of religion it is wrong! I can honestly say,, Even if I was raped which god given i wont be and got pregnant.. I would keep it. It s still an innocent child that didnt ask to be brought in this world and once you saw that child if you had any heart at all you could love it just as if it was a pregnancy! Abortion also messes up your body. If your thinking of doing it take a look into the medical side of it it takes a toll on your body!

I am all for abortion! good, you make a mistake, you can fix it, bad.. um, where to start...more children killed, abandoned,in foster homes, neglected, abused, all because a few people say that its wrong to kill a child (that's not even born)...but what about the people who kill a born child because they cant stand the crying or decide to throw it in the trash (which happens often) or can't afford to feed it!! why should a child be abused in every way because a mistake that happens every day ( and by taking every precaution doesn't always work). foster homes a full of kids that never get adopted because of overpopulation..not to mention the people who have kids just to get on welfare..is that fair?... a baby should not suffer from adult mistakes...a miscarriage is the same thing as an abortion..loosing an unborn fetus..not a baby!

Some birth defects are so severe this is no chance of the baby surviving. Abortion is not a pleasant topic, but if you look up "epignathus" you will see why some people choose to have what are referred to as "therapeutic" abortions. After somebody figures out how to perform molecular surgery on human chromosomes to eliminate catastrophic genetic illnesses and people learn how to use birth control, maybe it will be a thing of the past.

It is such a complex issue. Even if you think that you do not have a moral issue regarding it, most people that have them think about them years and decades later and most say that they regret it. There are so many people in the world that desparately want a baby and can't have one, that it seems very selfish to have an abortion. There are groups that will help you. Abortion is something you cannot take back. If you are strong, you can nourish a life instead of ending one. Maybe that's not what you want to hear but that is the reality of the situation.
You can even get financial help http://adoptionnetwork.com/birthmother-unplanned-pregnancy/index.html?source=overture&OVRAW=teenage%252520pregnancy%252520support&OVKEY=pregnancy%252520support%252520teen&OVMTC=advanced

why - because people can be too immature, too afraid, too muddled up in the head to cope with a baby. They could be druggies, alkies, have experienced abuse in the past, health problems, have no one else in the world to help them
I believe in abortion, only in depesperate circumstances, but there are far too may unwanted children in this world, and far too many children abused due to extremely bad parenting. I don;t belive any woman would consider it an easy decision to make. However I would never condone an abortion administered after about 12 weeks of pregnancy
against - religious beliefs
tremendous guilt - partly brought on my do gooders who doesn't understand personal circumstances
Don't judge until you fully understand a person
and no I haven't had an abortion myself, and would never have one, but understand others who have

The good thing would be not having yet another child grow up unloved, abused and neglected! It's better than some women who wait until they give birth and the baby is alive then they dump it in a dumpster!
The bad would be if women use it as birth control! And the effects it might have on the woman's mental or physical health!

Depends on the situation. If you feel that you wouldn't be able to take care of the child and also wouldn't be able to give it up and abortion may be for you. You have to remember that you have to live with it for the rest of your life. No matter where you go or what you do it will always be there in the back of your mind. Also think about the fact that you may want to tell loved ones about it. Not just family but future husbands, and future children if you choose to have them later. Its something that you really want to think about before you do it. You may even want to go to a clinic and talk to them about it. Also talk to people that have been through it. Both women to get that point of view and if you care about the mans point of view talk to them too. It really does effect both.. but always remember its up to you and only you. Its your body and no one else's. Don't let any-ones perception of you alter what you truly want.. or may need.

well, what is known very little about abortion is the effects that it has on the women. Many of the women that have abortions have a tendency to develop depression in their lives and many of them also risk the chance not being able to conceive another child. hope this helps and God bless u.
