I want to know what is up with the "hot" girl image these days. Its not hot at all. You dont even have to be pretty to be a "hot girl". Examples: Many pornstars, and music video girls. All you need is for your breasts to be nearly falling out, booty hanging out, and too much make up on. Honestly, these women are not truly attractive and would have nothing without their "assets" on display. Many of which are fake. Sometimes when im with my guy friends and they say a chick is hot, i almost want to slap some sense into them. I am not a "hater" because if a woman was truly attractive, I would have no qualms. If she looked good and was dressed sexily. But when i look at some of the women they speak about its so superficial. I think im an attractive woman and many others have told me so, but find it offensive to be called hot because i do not want to be looked at that way. What is with guys these days? Has beauty really become so superficial and meaningless, but hot so long as its sexual?

Most guys say when someone is "hott" they are just generalizing based off of looks. There are all kinds of "hott" girls- girls that are all attractive in different guys' opinions. Some guys think that superficial is hot. I will honestly look at a girl and say "she is hott" sometimes. However, this is not the same as being attractive. Attractive includes all aspects of a person- appearance is a small thing about attractiveness. Attractiveness includes personality- "hott"ness includes only looks, unfortunately.
"Hott"ness hasn't existed too long. People have become more superficial, as the opportunities for such things, such as figureheads like models, more plastic surgery, etc become available. However, most guys don't think this way. When guys watch a porno or a music video or commercials or television, sex appeal sells. In life, sex appeal does not sell. Beauty is as deep as the heart, not as deep as the television screen. One would be surprised to learn that beauty is not meaningless, but just lost in the mist of superficial media and the effect it has had on generations.

The definition of what is beautiful is very personal and fluid. Old sex symbols like Marilyn Monroe would be considered fat by today's standards. Some guys prefer bigger women, many do not. I am really thin, have been my whole life. As a result I have fairly little boobs. My boyfriend says they are sexy because they are firm and proportional. Some guys may not think that my cute little boobs are sexy. Fine, then they don't get to see them up close! That is my feelings on the matter. I am unwilling to go in to surgery in order to fit an ever changing image of sexy. I TOTALLY agree that too many woman sell their bought body parts as sexy. The most beautiful women in my mind are the ones with little or no makeup, natural hair color and style, clothes that compliment instead of flaunt, and a glow of inner strength. That is beautiful!!
I live in Utah and some of the Indian women here are the most beautiful women I have ever seen.

People who have no taste. They're also the people who are buying the "proud-to-be-ugly" line of Dodge cars, fitting them with "about-to-fall-apart" noisy mufflers and then driving them back to their HOA-regulated upper-middle class suburban homes for their neighbors to despise.
Presumably they're getting better gas mileage than they were with their Gross Overkill suvs and trucks.
But the point is that actual aesthetics and general suitability to a task don't matter as much as the shock & awe of a visceral thrill that can only be delivered by grossly excessive overdelivery. It's not fun to drive if the engine rumblings don't make people deaf, it's not a real truck until it doesn't fit in the garage, and it's not sexy until it doesn't fit in any shirt on the face of the earth.
This line of reasoning is, of course, ridiculous. But everything that is subtle enough to do its job right -- that is, without grabbing the attention of everybody around it (often in train-wreck fashion) -- is going to have a hard time generating the "ooh look at that" buzz that the attention-grabbers have going for them, even when it's only "augh, my eyes! they burn!"
This would be the modern recurrence of the showman's (I think PT Barnum, but he's usually overcredited) line that there's no such thing as bad publicity.

I believe that being "hot" has nothing to do with appearance or physical attributes. If somebody has a dynamic personality or is just beautiful is a non physical aspect...I consider that to be a better definition of "hot". I completely agree with you on all aspects of what it is that you are saying. Many guys are completely shallow and cannot delve into the deeper meaning of what it means to be "hot".

Well for one, you're stereotyping ALL guys. Second, each person has his own tastes, you think one type of woman is attractive someone else thinks another type is attractive. Just because someone doesn't agree with you in tastes doesn't make them wrong.
