I'm trying to conceive but was told by a friend that lack of orgasm on my part could hurt chances?

I rarely have orgasms during sex unless I am "helping" myself along(and still that isn't always a given). I've been told that the best way for sperm to reach the cervix is when a woman orgasms because the muscles can suck the sperm in...Can I still have a child if I never achieve orgasm?

Honey, that theory is such a crock of S**t! You know how I know? I got pregnant at 15 and have been having sex with the same guy (now my husband) for 7 years now. About 10 months ago I had my FIRST orgasm. I was like wow, that's what it is! I have been trying to concieve now for almost 2 years and we are now having orgasms way way more often and I ain't pregnant yet. But I got preg at 15 without every having an orgasm. Hmmm, kinda blows the theory that not having one ruins your chances doesn't it??? Sorry fot TMI!!!

Yes, you can still conceive a child even if you never orgasm. While your friend is correct in saying that the physical act of an orgasm does create a "spasm" in the cervical muscle that help sperm reach an egg, it is not necessary for conception. A woman being artificially impregnated does not generally experience orgasm yet we know conclusively that this form of breeding can be highly successful. A pillow under your hips and engaging in intercourse nearer the midway point of your ovulation may increase your chances a bit, but relaxing is the most effective way to increase your chances of conception.

If it matters at all, it is only a *tiny* factor in the whole equation. Sperm will reach and pass through the cervix whether you have an orgasm or not--as long as the sperm make it into you safely *and* you have the cervical fluid to keep them moving in the correct direction.

Honestly that theory is a load of bull. But try woman on top, where you are stimulating your clit. Maybe even try a vibrator ring. It really really works so well, and the only way really to have a female orgasm is through the clitoris. So Try Try away!

and by the way, the best way to let the sperm travel to your cervix is to have sex before you go to sleep. That way your body is lying down, making it easier for the sperm to travel horizontally rather than uphill, if you were standing up.

I wont ever let me husband know this, but I have never had an orgasm. For some reason I just cant. I have two wonderful babies. My son is 14 months old and my daughter is 4 months old. I had no problems at all getting pregnant. Having an orgasm has nothing to do with getting pregnant.

Well, female orgasm will make the cervix dip down closer. But your partner needs to deposit first then orgasm that way it's dipping into a pool of sperm.

Of course you can, how do you think the grandmothers did? Do you think they knew about g-spot and orgasms? I read somewhere that only 30% of women get to orgasm every time they have intercourse, so if getting pregnant depended on that there would be far less population in the world.

You can still get pregnant whether or not you orgasm. After you finish having sex, ask him to manually masturbate you to achieve orgasm. I've heard that the cervix does suck it in when orgasaming

um your friend has no idea what they're talking about orgasms have NOTHING to do with concieving there are ALOT of women out there including myself (hehehe) that HAVENT orgasmed and still fell pregnant.....trust me if the only way you could concieve was while having an orgasm almost NO ONE would ever be pregnant

Relax... Thats what you need to do sweetie... dont stress or worry too much about it! You also need to think about this..Is he the man you want to spend the rest of your life with and he cant even make you have an orgasm? Best of Luck,whatever you decide!
