I don't think anyone will be able to capture the innocence Reeve gave Clark Kent. I think if there ever was an actor *made* to play a role it was him. From everything I have read Reeve was not only a talented actor, but an incredible person as well. I think Routh is a good actor and actually look forward to seeing his performance. I will be keeping an open mind.
On another note, do you think portraying Superman gave Reeve (later) any help in dealing with his tragic disability?

Brandon Routh in my opinion will not be a good a Superman as Christopher Reeve, however I am willing to give him a chance. I can't wait to see Superman Returns, I already got my ticket for July 1 on IMAX 3D in NYC.

ADDITION:
this is not a re-make.its a continuation of the first 4 superman films (where Christopher reeves left off).
and yes it will b a better movie,but Chris reeves will remain the man of steel who made us believe man could fly.
i am still waiting for tickets to the tropicana imax 3d in atlantic city for 7-2-06.
does anyone know when they go on sale?

I doubt it!! Christopher Reeve was THE MAN. I think the new guy will do his thing but no way will he even be close to Reeve's talent in potraying Superman.

Who knows, we will only have to go see it to see if the new actor does a good job. There have been movies that have been remade in the past (the only one I can think of right now is King Kong) where it has done well... Only time will tell.

The new superman looks nothing like someone who should play superman. He looks like a pansy to me.

No remakes suck hollywood is running out of ideas for movies so now everyhting is a remake.

He has a lot of history on his shoulders to live up to i think. But I think he will be good.
