NO! Such a high cost for bullets would only serve to create a huge black market for them. People with the desire to have bullets would quickly learn how to home make them for 21 cents apiece, keep to meet their own needs, and them enrich themslves by enterprisingly selling some for $1,000 apiece.

Yes, definietly. If that happens, it would be easier for the Police & the CSIs people to track the murderer bcs they should be a member of Al Capone, or some other mafia group who can afford 5000.00 a bullet.

Lovely idea.

In the West Wing, when they were doing the presidential debates, Santos said he wasn't in favor of gun control, but was in favor of bullet control. Make the bullets cost-prohibitive. I really liked that idea.

I don't think so. You have to remember that just because the actual purchase cost...say in a public store would go up there is always illegal transactions and trafficking that would still be enough to supply anyone with anything that they wanted.

No. Because the criminals would buy from the black market - where they get their guns. And there would be plenty of suppliers who would come in and sell them at significantly lower prices.

But law-abiding citizens wouldn't be able to afford them, so they wouldn't be able to protect themselves, and the gun crime rate would skyrocket like what happened in England and Australia after they took guns from the non-criminals.

Funny how that happens. Like freaking clockwork.

That may have been the case if they were that expensive from the get go. I'm afraid we've crossed the point of no return much too long ago to make a dent in gun violence.

No, people would just smuggle bullets in from another country, or invent a new kind of weapon, or use old ones like knives.

that is like asking "can i slow down a chemical reaction by lowering the temperature?" of couse it would! please ignore the idiots who say it would have no effect -- that is the equivalent of comparing people's desire to kill with an endless source, which is ludicrous. gee, if the ease of obtaining weapons has no effect, then lets just arm everyone with their own fat boys and see how long the world lasts! jesus ***** christ, is the corellation THAT hard to comprehend?

The first murder happened way before guns...I still have to laugh when liberals will do/say anything to excuse people for taking individual responsibility for their own behavior.
