i think 12 is a good age to wear a little make up with help from mom or sis. then you will have enough pratice and knowledge to do it yourself, when you are 13! every teenage girl should be allowed to wear make up, but they should know how to wear it. and know what complexions are; teach your young daughters about natural beauty and that a little makeup can make a lot of diffrence.

Unfortunately, the REAL answer is when their parents say it's OK. My opinion, however is that girls should start using make-up AT HOME as soon as they are interested, because I know that putting it on right takes practice, so they could get a head start playing "dress-up" at home. If I had a daughter of my own I would let her wear lipgloss out of the house in Jr. High and any make-up she wants to in High School. I feel that a girls self-esteem is vital to her social development and I wouldn't want something like not being allowed to wear make-up hold her back. However, if my daughter put on make-up like she was going as a clown for Halloween, I might just not let her wear make-up out of the house till she learned how to ENHANCE her natural beauty.

I think Jr. High is a good time for makeup (7th grade). And only natural looking makeup. Concealer, little bit of loose powder, light blush, natural eye shadow, thin eyeliner and maskera. I think the most important thing about young girls wearing makeup is that they know how to properly apply it. There's nothing worse than some young girl wearing dark maroon lipstick with orangy blush and thick eyeliner... Or blue eyeshadow... ha ha ha... make sure she doesnt wear blue eyeshadow. Get a Kevyn Aucoin book so she can learn how to properly apply it and find some tasteful looks... Even if she is funky or wild or just wants to look that way for a night, she should still know how to do it tastfully.

I don't care for make-up myself, but I have three girls and they are all anxious to start wearing it. I told them when they get into junior high they can start with something light and when they get into high school they can make their own choice on what they wear. I hope that by that time I will have taught them a little class and they will make the right choice on their own.

I think I started wearing "some" makeup when I was 14. I'm talking clear mascara and some lip gloss. But really any time in high school is perfectly normal.

I think 14 or 15 years old is a good age. As long as they know how to apply the makeup.

I think it's ok for girls to start wearing lip gloss around 13 and as far as full fledged make-up goes I think it should be reserved for special occasions such as school dances and such only after turn 16. young ladies are trying to grow up too fast now a days you only have 17 years to be a kid after that the rest of your life your an adult with adult responsibilites be a kid while you can.
