going to montrel in july looking for a good clean hotel and not to expensive

The Holiday Inn on Sherbrooke is nice, great pool and its right downtown

I stayed at Hotel de Paris- it's 1 and a half blocks from Ste Cathereines -pretty central. It's decent and has a wide range of room prices (including a hostel in the basement- or at least there was)

Not sure what you mean by "not to [sic] expensive," but I just went in May, and stayed at the Hotel Nelligan and the Le Meridian Versailles and both were great.
