It's obvious and has been for years that the most lethally addicting substance available is cigarettes. But tobacco doesn't have any addicting ingredients, cigarette companies ADD nicotine to get consumers addicted. Why in the world is there a "war on drugs" when the most heinous drug is allowed everywhere?

Because the government can profit from tobacco sales, and people want to smoke regardless of the health effects. The war on some drugs is just a repeat of prohibition. It's never going to succeed.

I don't care if it's in cigarettes, I'd like to see it in lollipops, sans tobacco. The nicotine won't kill you, and there's a lot of people addicted to nicotine already. Gums and patches don't work well,
but nicotine candy just might get the job done. All the nicotine, no cancer! You can still get blood pressure problems from nicotine, but those won't hurt you near as much as smoking.

Nicotine is a natural occuring drug in tobacco.

As far as regulation of tobacco. talk to the FDA

$$$$$$$$$ is the reason. If tobacco products were as hazardous to your health as touted, the government should ban them. The only drawback . . . . .loss of millions of dollars in state and federal tax revenue.

The same reason we are all required to buy insurance. These are the two biggest lobbies in D.C. One more example of the "buy a Kennedy" program.
