We want lower health care, yet we don't take care of ourselves and we sue the drug companies, then complain about the governments role; we buy SUVs and create a higher demand for gas, and then complain about the government. Why are people so quick to blame the government for they're own problems instead of fixing them themselves? Screw the governments role in our lives, lets take care of our own damn selves.

Take a look at leader. He leads by example.

People are quick to blame the government because of lack of trust in the government and that programs actually work. This is not a Bush issue; this goes back to Clinton and before.

I agree, people who buy SUVs and complain about the price of gas are morons. Actually, anyone who drives and complains about gas prices are hypocrites. We want lower health care costs but our premiums are so high, mainly because insurance is skyrocketing and the cost of medical care is rising; some say because of legal costs but mainly it's the trickle-down effect from spending on research and advancements in medicine. It costs more to be healthy these days.

Plus we're now conditioned to think that a magic pill or some miraculous surgery will cure us or that by the time that we are old, we'll have a solution to whatever our malady is. I don't know why that is, but i'm sure that's on people's minds.

Actually, I don't know if I would say "stupid" as much as I would say "ignorant".

First off you're an idiot. We want lower health care has nothing to do with suing drug companies. In this case i do disagree with you, because the government is responsible for making sure that a drug is safe before approving it to be marketed to millions. It is there responsibility to see through all four phases of a drug is carried through, and view the side effect and make a decision on whether the risks out weights the benefits. Ordinary people can't do this by themselves without the proper medical education so before you start ranting and raving look at the facts and pick up a damn book.

I agree with you many people do blame the govt for thier probs, but there really are people who cannot afford to take care of themselves and are not able to have the same freedoms as some others. There are many disadvataged groups in this country and there are alot of people who are at an advantage that still complain. I supose there is no easy answer.

Because people believe what they need to believe in order to be able to sleep at night and wake up in the morning. Most people can't handle tough truths and have a tremendous fear of change.

Perfect example: I asked 55 year old female colleague of mine why she voted for Bush in 04. Her reply... "Well he's already there and he's had experience. It wouldn't be good to rock the boat."

People are easily manipulated and it so much less work to have others think for you. Many people just swallow what they're fed. It is depressing.

Because why take responsibility for your own life when you can blame someone else? And there's a lawyer waiting to sue someone on your behalf...

It is always easier to believe that someone else is to blame and someone else needs to fix the situation, rather than realizing that we will have to do some WORK and change things ourselves.
