In Exodus God instructs the jews not to worship other idols and states that he is a "jealous" God. Can we infer that God acknowledges the existence of other gods but that he doesn't want the jews to worship the other gods. It would be strange for God to be jealous of gods that don't exist. Perhaps the other gods are better in some way than God?

there are NO other gods. when God said not to honor the other gods, he was referring to our own human passions......possessions, drinking, sex, that sort of thing/

Exodus 20:3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
God is God and there is no other except the fake god that people worship. Anyone can make a god out of something like your TV can be a god to you, or your money or your girlfriend/boyfriend. God the creator doesn't want anyone to worship a fake god period. He wants them to know the truth and some wood idol will not save them from Satan's lies.
Truth is life, which do you want?
As far as the other gods your talking about which one send His son to die for you because He loves you so much? Which god would die for you? have you seen any evidence of other gods? NO! Read this story in the Bible...
1Ki 18:21 And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the LORD be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word...
And jealous? would you be Jealous if your child loved some other person as their daddy or mommy more than you. God is the Father! He loves His children. He created us and for someone to take that from Him would make Him Jealous and beings He is GOD ...He can do whatever He wants.

Of course God knows that people can have other gods in there life, but he also knows that He is the one and only true God!! That is why he acknowledges that there are other gods (idols) but because he loves us so much He is trying to spare us form the misleading and disastrous consequences that worshiping any other god(s)(things) brings into our life.

The Bible helps us to appreciate that there is a god other that Jehovah God ruling this world .
(2 Corinthians 4:2-4) . . .. 3 If, in fact, the good news we declare is veiled, it is veiled among those who are perishing, 4 among whom the god of this system of things has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, so that the illumination of the glorious good news about the Christ, who is the image of God, might not shine through.
When Jesus was on earth He knew that Satan the Devil was the god ruling this world , as mention on the above scripture the god or ruler of this of things is Satan the Devil and his demons.
This is what Jesus stated on :
(John 14:30) I will not speak with you much more, for the ruler of the world is coming, and he has no hold on me.
Many think that God is the one ruling this wicked world but if the Religious Leaders will take the time to read their bible and acquired the True knowledge they would be instructed their flock the words of Jehovah God with truth and wisdom coming from Jehovah not from themselves.
Jehovah God is our Heavenly Father is created us. He know us better that any one else, as a human father would know his child. If someone wants to teach your child that something bad is good, how would you react? As a loving Father you would protect your child again that person…you would be a jealous a father and in guard that no one will corrupt your child teaching…..well in the same way Jehovah God is jealous about us. As a Loving Father he does not wan any one to corrupt our teaching makinf us loss out on everlasting life…
So think again….If you think that Satan and His demons are better gods that Jehovah the creator of the whole universe and wants what is better for us you would have to re think this matter again.
Please take your time and learn what does the bible really teach in order to run for that everlasting life that many now a day are running forth.
Jehovah God word always speak true, He is not like human. Remember this:
(Numbers 23:19) 19 God is not a mere man who tells lies, Nor a son of man who changes his mind. When he says something, will he not do it? When he speaks, will he not carry it out?
(John 17:17) 17 Sanctify them by means of the truth; your word is truth.
Is Jehovah God referred himself as a Jealous God is because he cares for us.
(Psalm 145:18) Jehovah is near to all those calling on him, To all who call on him in truth.

What does your brain tell you? When it comes to religion it is my belief that people should think for themselves. Let your own mind answer your questions of your faith and answer only what you think is right. In this case you are not going to get your answer as to whether God recognizes other Gods, the only answer you will get is that there is only one God.

You can make money your god, material possessions, and if they are your gods, then how can you worship the only true and living God, the creator of all.

He must. Five of the Ten Commandments tell us how to deal with them. For example, "Thou shall take no other god before Me" obviously recognizes other gods.

Umm properly i think in the darkish God and Goddess, they dont quite care if I make mistakes....see you later as I dont reason damage to nature, which i'd never do because i'm vegetarian and that i love the Earth =)
