The top 10 best universities in the world are in the United States and England. Some include, Harvard Univ, Stanford Univ, University of Cambridge, University of California - Berkley, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Princeton University. Of course, the idea of the best university is largely based on opinion, but these schools are chosen because they excel in many important factors.

The "best" universities in the world are the ones that fit your personality, learning style, and comfort level. For you, that may not mean the Ivies or even the so-called "second-tier" schools. First, know yourself. If you are a teen, that is easier said than done. There are many tests available through the Internet and also your high school counselor. Many are free and some are not. Some of the more helpful ones include the ASVAB, the Strong Interest Inventory Test, and the Myers-Brigg personality test. After you determine your likes/dislikes, use the Internet to research colleges that have the best fit FOR YOU. A place to start would be collegeboard.com and princetonreview.com. One good book to review is "Choosing the Right College" published by ISI. The best advice I can give you is 1) don't just go where your friends go, and 2) accept the fact that there is no such thing as "the perfect college," but there are probably many that you could choose that would be a great match and you can succeed at. Good luck!

This is a great question. First lets take a look at your SAT scores this plays a hugh part. Also what are your Educational goals. Are you going into Business or do you want to become a Doctor or Lawyer. I would say my choices are as followed. For IT I would look at MIT, For Business I would concider Yale, for Med or Law I would look at the California University's and if my SAT's were not of these levels I would either look at a JC or go to USIU.

The best university in the world is subjective. I would suggest to you that the best is the one that stimulates your mind in such a way that your true abilities emerge, regardless of major, and you are the best you can be from the overall experience and education you receive.
Best of luck!

For what? If a university is world renown as a research institution, but they stick undergraduates with grad students as their teachers, what good is it as a place to get a bachelor's degree?

This would depend on who you ask, but many people would say Oxford, Harvard, Yale, Princeton for overall scholastic merit, but it would depend on what you want to go to school for.
