Unfortunately cow's have been fed their own kind mixed in with their normal feed. This brought about (at least it's a theory) Mad Cow Disease, which is a really bad way to die (for both the cow and the person eating infected meat).

No, cows do not eat meat. They are herbiverous animals, meaning they eat grass. Because of the business of feeding cows in a narrow environment, people are feeding a processed mixture of grass, meat, etc. to cows. Now we are faced with 'mad cow disease', because the cows cannot handle the different amino acids and chemicals that are present in meat.

Cows are herbivores and on their own do not eat meat. Ranchers have fed cows animal by-products mixed in their food thus Mad Cow disease. This practice has been banned. Cows also only have chewing teeth which are only good for snatching up grass then chewing up so to swallow. Carnivorous animals have sharp cutting and piercing teeth. Humans are omnivores which means we are suited to eat everything.

In the U.S. it is illegal to feed cattle any type of animal by-product just because of the mad cow disease in Europe. As a beef producer, we have to keep records of what we feed our cattle and it is all grain based feed. Our cows get a grain mix range cube, home grown hay, grass, mineral and salt blocks. That is all. We have to keep track of when our calves were born and what kind of brand, ear tag, etc. they have. This way every calf born can be traced back to us. We are all very aware of the consumers fears of mad cow, and since we eat our own beef, we don't want it either. I can't speak for other countries, but the U.S. beef producer is doing all the things it takes to keep consumers safe. If you don't know anything about the industry, please don't answer questions about it. All you do is scare people unnecessarily.

Hungry animals will eat anything including dung. Meat byproducts introduced into bovine feed is said to create the "Mad Cow Disease" This is an unscrupulous practice used to "save" money. What about "Life"?

As far as I know, cows are not carnivorous. I have heard of cows eating bones from another dead cow in the pasture if they are calcium deficient. This is not good for them because they can not digest the bones, therefore putting there own lives in jeopardy.

Absolutely they would and have. Unfortunately, having done so appears to have led to the Mad Cow Disease epidemic that hit England a few years ago.
As a result, it's unlikely that U.S. or U.K. cows would be fed meat any longer.
