In general, CT is not recommended for pregnant patients, because it is a form of x-ray. This doesn't mean it is necessarily going to harm the fetus, but you can see why you'd want to avoid unnecessary exposure.
CT is better targeted than an ordinary x-ray anyway, so the dose is lower and there is a lot less scatter.
Mention your CT to the doctor, and she/he can advise you. I suspect you shouldn't worry too much about it.
Can't really help with the alcohol question, because I just don't know. My opinion is that I think that many people probably end up having a few drinks here and there before they realize they are pregnant, so it probably isn't that terrible. I don't think you are sharing your circulatory system with the baby that early anyway.

the drinking is not so bad since your probably only weeks a long, because i found out i was pregnant 2days after my 21st birthday which fell on a Friday and i got drunk that whole weekend. i was 6weeks pregnant and didn't know i told my doctor everything and he said that it wouldn't hurt the baby since it is so early in the pregnancey. well he was right because she came out 7lbs. 6oz. and 19 1/2 inches long and healthy as can be. i would advise u to tell your doctor about the drinking and the CT scan and he would be able to tell u what u need to know . and good luck !

I had an x-ray before I knew I was pregnant with my daughter who is now 3 yrs old. And it was of my lungs because I had pneumonia. I wouldn't necessarily get one done but you should tell them that you are pregnant when you go in for it. They will know what to do. If you have to have it done, than you basically have no choice but they will make sure your child is as safe as possible. Radiation can do a lot to children, so be careful.
Also, DO NOT DRINK AT ALL! This is the time when your child is developing. If you wouldn't give your child this in his/her bottle than don't give it to your child when you are pregnant. You risk low birth weight and FAS or Fetal Alcohol Syndrome. If you love your child you will stay away from any amount of alcohol.

If you had a scan of your hips, you got juiced pretty good, as compared to a head or abdomen ct.. In general any type of radiation is considered bad for the baby. Especially since you are still in your 1st trimester. Development occurs most in the 1st trimester, making the baby more susceptible to radiation.

Chances are everything will be fine. Make sure you give all those details to your doctor and ask every question that comes to mind. Think of everything you can and make a list. Don't leave that office without knowing as many risks, possibilities, impossibilities, probabilities, statistics, etc. Think positive thoughts and relax. If you want to, write me. I've been pregnant twice.
