At any store they have little traps that you can lay out and it is not harmfull to animals its made by raid. the ones i have seen have been black and the ants just crawl in and then when gets full just throw away they work well i have trouble in the summer at the front door and i put them out and no more troubles traps are small enough that they can be hidden from the kitten good luck

If it's an outdoor cat, just keep him/her inside for a while. But I had an ant problem reciently, I got little ant traps and put them in the house by the doors and I got some ant killer for outside (little crumb looking stuff, but I can't recall the name). About two days later...all the ants were GONE.
Just go to HomeDepot, Lowes, any hardware store and see what you can find

Ants seem to be a real problem this year, I use plain old Borax Laundry soap, it is inexpensive and your cat shouldn't bother it. Go to one of the dollar stores and purchas one of the squeeze ketchup bottles put the laundry soap in it and apply around the base boards, around base of kitchen cabinets and anywhere you see traces of ants, leave it out for a few days and when you no longer see any signs of the ants vacuum up excess laundry soap. This remedy has worked for me for years, we also have pets and have never had a problem.

They have this product out called Terro. you can get it at Home Depot. I think that Target or Wal-Mart may have it too. But you drop it on this little cardboard thing it comes with and place it anywhere...otherwise if you think that your kitten will still get into it, they have this housing ant killer product from RAID. I have used both and they both work very well.

I sprinkle cayenne pepper around the edges of the house and also around the baseboards in the kitchen. It is safe, your pets will not eat it because of the smell and no harmful chemicals!

Get the little roach motel-type things from the grocery store. Get the ones that say "kills the whole colony." Put them all around your house/apartment. Buy more than what they say you need. This has worked for me living two different places.

Put down some honey with sugar sprinkled around it...The ants will go for the sugar and then get stuck in the honey....Just mop them up after that....

You can use chemicals. It won't hurt them a bit. You can even buy the stuff at Home Depot and Lowe's.

Vaccum them up! And get rid of any open food or crumbs anywhere! Make sure there aren't any spills or sweet things around and plaster and cracks and holes shut.
