My work colleague believes that it is wrong to have a mixed race child and that people who do are corrupting generations to come. What do you think?

If we're lucky someday all the races will commingle and then we'll have one less excuse to hate each other.

I believe your work colleague is most likely a mixed race child him/herself. There are very few people in the world who are not products of different races coming together. This colleague of yours should research his/her own family tree and I am certain he/she will be surprised of the results. Besides, where is it written that it is wrong or illegal?

Mix and match, For instance, did you ever see the child of a white and black couple? They are always beautiful. There are many scientific aspects that would aslo lay claim to the benifits of mixed race but i do not have the sources to offer. Also apply this issue to all aspects of life, two scoops of ice cream, two different flavors are always better. Who paints pictures or colors in solid shades? Noone. It is just a beautiful fact of life that this mixing is better. If ever,in this world, we come to realize the stupidity of raceisim and segragration these truths will be self evident. I can't understand why we are not at this point yet. It is sad that there are people today who even debate this topic. Just mix, mix, mix.....

As a mixed race child (half filipina and half caucasian), I think that your colleague is completely wrong. But then again, everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

I would assume that I am not "corrupting" generations, but am instead embodying two cultures that are completely contrasting, with different sets of moral standards and beliefs. Different food, different language—it's all so exotic. I have another "side" to me that separates me from others.

And yet, I am still just like everybody else around me. No one can say that I am "un-American", for I was born here. Tah!

I personally think people should be envious. But, of course, that's just my arrogant voice shouting.

Yeah your colleague is totally right.

It's also wrong for someone with blonde hair to procreate with someone with ginger, brown, black, or any other colour hair, and someone with blue eyes to mix genes with brown eyes, green eyes, hazel, grey etc. It's all soooo bad, we have to stay pure, interbreed - incest and inbreeding creates perfect specimens of human beings after all. How intelligent! If only everyone thought like your colleague!

I am being sarcastic of course. How pathetic. "corrupting the generations"?

I tell you for nothing - NO-ONE os pure anything. People have always cross matched, form the times when England was constantly invaded by Romans, Saxons, Vikings etc. No one is pure anything, except maybe your colleague who is pure ignorant.

I think we should all intermingle as we please, and if everyone ends up a coffee colour - all the better. Less to argue about. We should do as our heart tells us. We should never let someone's skin colour prevent us from feeling for them and being with them. My bf is Sri Lankan and I'm White (Caucasian) English. I hope to marry him and have kids some day. I hope they never have the misfortune of meeting your colleague.

Thats quite the racist though your colleague has.

It shouldnt matter what race a child or anyone is for that matter.

I just think the poor child will be mixed up when curious people start to ask her about her race and ethnicity and what her mother is and what her father is and she would suffer all her/his life because of having no particular race or people to whom he/she can belong.I know this from experience to be true.

i think that's rubbish to be honest

as long as a child is loved and wanted that's the best reason

and on top of this they will have the benefit of learning about two cultures - so will learn to be tolerant to others

i think that if two people love each other..wheather they are of differnt race..it doesnt matter because they love each other..and that is wot matters...and the child will be loved also
