i couldnt tell when i dropped either...i mean in a way i could...but i didnt really notice until my mom said something about it...and if you've dropped already it prolly means you dont have much longer...i think i dropped about 2 weeks before i had my son. i dont think walking and swimming will hurt and getting extra exercise is good....but you should really talk to your doctor about that bc you are far along

A lot of times people can tell by looking at you that you dropped even when you can not tell yourself. As far as skin being looser etc when the baby drops or even shifts it is in a different position then it was before and putting less pressure on your stomach (even lower on your stomach) in some spots and more in others. It really depends on how you are carrying which spots are going to feel softer or looser and which spots are not. If there is a change chances are the baby did drop.
As far as the walking etc it is always a good idea to do that anyway. It can help induce labor but will not guarantee that you will go into labor. You can start doing it now but the baby will not come until it is ready no matter what you do.

Go ahead and walk and go swimming. With those methods, it'll only expediate labor if your body and baby are all ready to go. There have been many induction techniques through the years, but the only one that even has a chance of inducing labor before your baby is ready is what they do in the hospital, which they only do in an emergency (and sometimes it doesn't even work!). This is assuming, of course, that you have had no problems with preterm labor with this pregnancy. Any herbal remedies that you decide to try to expediate labor you should always discuss with your dr. I will say, however, that many require you to have already started taking them in low doses and help to tone your uterus. Often times they take a couple of weeks to work, even up to a month. Other methods which are supposed to induce labor right away should always be previously discussed with your dr, and have a good chance of making you sick rather than inducing.
As for if your baby dropped, I didn't even notice except for the fact that I suddenly had stretchmarks on the underside of my belly where there weren't before. My son was also head-down and deep in my pelvis from 26-weeks on, so he didn't have far to drop. I'm expecting the same with this baby.

Your doc is probably seeing you every two weeks now, ask them where the baby is. I remember with my first pregnancy there was no missing it...my son literally spent 4 hours twising and turning inside me so hard I was vomiting and had red and blue bruises outside my belly. He turned completely around from head in my belly to head totally in my pelvis. It was awful, my doctor happened to see me the next day and just about died at my poor stomach!
With this pregnancy, my baby sort of drops, then moves out again. I can sometimes hold his head in my hand right above my pelvic bone, then the next day, he is over on my side...last night he completely switched sides.
I wouldn't worry too much if I were you about the position yet. Walking and swimming are fine anytime you are pregnant. Try to relax and get some rest, you will need it soon enough when you are up every two hours feeding that little bundle of joy you can't wait to meet!

Have you had children before? If you have than your belly will be lose down below. Your baby is getting bigger and will take up more space. If you child has dropped you will feel it in your pelvis. It will literally feel like your child is resting on your pubic bone. I think you should do what is good for your child and wait the entire 9 months unless your physician says different.
Also, if you haven't exercised throughout this entire pregnancy I would just walk. I wouldn't do anything that would devastate your body.

Your bellying dropping means that the baby is getting in position for you to have the baby. as the baby gets bigger it doesn't have room to move and starts to settle in this position. and walking and swimming is very good for you. just don't over do it. your baby will come when it is ready. relax and enjoy your time. for pretty soon it wont be your time any more

You will know when your stomach has dropped. You will be able to breathe easier and your baby will be head down. FYI, If this is your first child, you might go past your due date and have to be induced. Just relax, and sit back. Once that baby comes you will be plenty busy.

when you drop you can put your hand flat under your boobs and all your fingers will be flat. and walking and swimming in two of the best things you can do. walking also helps in the delivery room when you are delivering.
