it's not just Disney, look at almost any children's literature and you will find the same thing. for one, they want the kids to have something to struggle with, for another, the parents would get in the way of their adventures.

Disney is the name for family movies because the stories often tell tales of morality, and doing what's right, no matter how hard it is....
Even though the classics, while still kind of edgy, follow this pattern. Take The Lion King, for example.....
The characters you named don't honestly count too much; we rarely see Max, or Donald's nephews. As far as Mickey goes, the only person people remember him caring for is Pluto, his dog.
PS>>> That Lion King sexual reference is false. I checked it out; there's nothing like that in the movie.

Its definitely true, there's never a family thing with Disney writing just the watching. There's more to the whole Disney thing than the storyline I mean have you caught all the sexual things to. I mean look at Aladdin and the penis shaped castle top or whatever it is. How else do you get parents to watch children's films? Shouldn't be that way but Disney had a dirty mind, and not sure it was just Walt himself, also heard it was a lot of his artists to.

Don't get me started on the Disney controversies. You make a very good point, though. That is very true and I actually never noticed what you pointed out.

and a lot of the princesses are the child of a single dad. Cinderella before her dad died... Ariel... Jasmine... Bell. All the children of single fathers. Interesting.

yeah, I know. It's weird. Maybe it's a good plot line. But there are sexual references in the movies, and I don't get it. Why do they do that. That Lion King one. Sick.

Orphans are easy for audiences to warm to, feel sorry for, or whatever...just the same in many fairy tales...
