Old Town, Balboa Park and the world famous San Diego Zoo, LaJolla, Old Town, Gaslamp, Seaworld, Wild Animal Park, Legoland if you have children, Beaches, historic Julian for some pie, Hotel Del Coronado, Carlsbad flower fields, jump over the border for a day in TJ, old town Temecula, just to name a few days worth of sightseeing.

Sea World
La Jolla - Seal Beach, nice restaurants, shopping
Gas Lamp District - nice restaurants, bar scene, shopping at Horton Plaza
Dessert at Extraordinary Desserts 2929 5th Avenue
Old Town - Mexican pottery & great food
Mission Beach - Soak up the sun. Visit the boardwalk.
Coronado - Visit the Hotel Del. If you take the ferry you can rent bikes once you get to the island.
Tijuana if you're adventurous

La Jolla - beach a little north of San Diego, beautiful.
The Docks - Star of India, ship from Master and Commander
Tijuana - just take the trolley, bus, train
Monsoon - great Indian restaurant
Sea World
Point Loma Lighthouse
The Zoo is SOOOOO overrated!!!
