I got a ticket for doing 75 in a 55 mph zone. The officer used a radar gun to deternine the speed. I want to beat this ticket and am doing a written declaration as my defence. HELP ME . I have until 6-16-06..........THANKS in ADVANCE Mike in CA.

The most you can get knocked off is 7mph, that is the margin of error for most radar guns.

Don't bother. Radar guns are calibrated regularly and checked daily for accuracy before each shift. Each operator is certified to use it. The case law is established and the judges accept the accuracy of it (similar to the accuracy of a breathilizer test for DUI). The question is - did you speed? If so, be humble and maybe the judge will cut you a break on points.
