Use electro-fishing. This involves a special net which is electrified with a low charge. Then you put in into the lake and the fish are stunned but not harmed and can then be scooped from the surface. You can put them in buckets for later release or even kill and eat them. Or you could follow the Ancient Mayan method where they blocked off a section of river and then drugged the fish, using what achaeologists believe to be a weak form of powdered cocaine. They were then scooped from the surface to be eaten. It all depends on what you want to do with the fish. But I can't think what legal substance you could use to drug fish with....

Do it humanely; offer the fish for sale to others with ponds and lakes on their property. Why on earth do you want to get rid of them??? Fish are wonderful creatures, and amazingly therapeutic to watch. Have a word with a vet, or at your aquarium store. Dont just pour poison or gasoline into the lake; you will be prosecuted for causing A HAZARD TO THE WATERTABLE!!!!!!! Not to mention cruelty to the lake inhabitants. Think about this; at the moment you are creating a wildlife environment where endangered species may decide to inhabit; why throw away this chance to help the environment???Lets face it, we need to give all the help we can before its too late for all of us!!!

If you cleared your fishing lake of fish it would no longer be a fishing lake - you would need to reffer to it as a non fishing lake

can't believe all the chemicals suggested here! Just get a couple of whopping great pike, they'll decimate the lake in a few weeks.
