Way back when people didn't trvel much because it was so hard. Life has changed as a result of air travel. Of course you could join the Navy like I did. LOL..

Airplanes not only allow people to travel long Distances in a shorter time,but the same industry that developed modern airplane Flight,also gave birth to the Aerospace industry,which helped put the First Man on the Moon.

The effects of airplanes on modern life are:
1) Decreased the amount of Trans-Atlantic Ocean travel [and motion sickness]
2) Provided a quicker way to get to far away lands to allow people to experience various cultures and lifestyles.
3) May have decreased people's patience levels ~ we can get their quicker and why should we drive when we can get there in 1 hour instead of 5 hours in the car.
4) Increased the amount of air sickness felt throughout the world.
5) Created a whole new industry for people to be employed in ~ Airline Industry. :)

Airplanes move people, goods, and services at a faster pace in the modern world which result in a faster pace of life and increased knowledge and learning. This in turn, by cause and effect, gives the human race an opportunity to grow exponentially.

The jet airplane has revolutionized travel since about 1960. It has brought people and cultures closer together. It has created environmental problems. Harmful chemicals sift down from the smoky trails of low-flying jets. The scream of jet engines is constantly heard by people who live near big-city airports. Jet aircraft, particularly the supersonic transport (SST) could engender stratospheric air pollution with consequent changes in climate. Jet exhaust contains water, CO2 oxides of nitrogen, and particulate matte. Temperature of the surface of the earth of about 0.2 Celsius degrees and could cause destruction of some of the stratospheric ozone that protects the earth from ultraviolet radiation.
