Robin Williams has acted like an "idiot" for as long as I can remember. I doubt if I would call him and idiot, this is his way he does things. The only time I have seen him serious is when Christopher Reeves died. I think he is a very smart and funny man.

Because he is a comedian who has made lots of money for being off the wall hilarious! He's just a funny guy and if he came out all serious and everything you would be going - what is wrong with him? He has based his popularity on this character so when he is doing an interview - he is working so he goes into that character. It's his job.

only during interviews? i thought it was all the time. he only isnt an idiot when hes playing a role in a movie. thats just him, hes acting when u see him in movies and unless the part calls for an idiot he wont be one

If you were half as talented as he is, you'll be licking the sole of his feet! Leave the man alone.

Because people expect him to..his comedic talents emerge at any given time..true sign of the comedy gift..he is a brilliant man though..in many aspects of business and entertainment..he is becoming legendary and to date no one can imitate him..=)
