Sequoia National Park
Death Valley National Park
Beaches are so overdone. Hit the parks. The Cali National Parks are amazing.
There's also the Winchester Mystery House in San Jose.

Go to the beach but, I would also check out Yosemite. If you dig waterfalls there is a lot of water up there and great hiking.
