learning about how stars are formed and movment of objects in space is cool to me. I couldn't go throught college for it though too much MATH

These two subjects are only mildly related (celestial objects). People interested in astronomy are interested in it because they are dillusional and think they can see into the future - this way they feel they have some control over the events in their lives instead of actually DOING anything about the events in their lives. People should be interested in astronomy as it is a real science and quite fascinating. Astronomy DOES give answers to some questions we seek.

First, there is a definite difference between the two. I take it from your details, your real question is about astrology vs christianity.
Stars have been here for BILLIONS of years. Jesus was only here 2000 years ago. You do the math.

simple. we all want to know the future but does'nt want to accept it and thus, try to change its outcome.
