The first thing that comes to mind is making sure you know what the "right job" is for you. As a person who's bounced from job to job industry to industry, it's important to find a job that you will be happy doing. I've had high paying jobs that I hated and it didn't work out of course. So I would say, first make sure you know what you want to do, then focus on finding that particular job.

It's all in your interview. Do your homework on the position and the company. You should know what qualities make a successful person in the position you are applying for - decide if that is right for you - and make your answers reflect the strengths you will bring in that role for the company. Prepare yourself for interview questions. Practice your answers outloud, even better if you can practice with someone who can give you feedback. Go to websites that offer interviewing tips and know the most common questions (ie. What is your weakness? Where do you see yourself in 5 years? Why should I hire you?)

Diligence and comfort with change.
Basically, only you can define what "right" is, and your odds of identifying the right job before you're hired to do it is slim to none; so first you must be diligent in searching for new opportunities at all times, and comfortable leaving a job that's merely "good" for one that might be "right" -- then, when you find something that's close to being "right", you must be diligent in finding opportunities to improve that job, and comfortable with the risks associated with those opportunities.

First you have to know what the right job is. Then you keep looking until you find it. There is no easy way to something that is worthwhile.
