You have to sell yourself. Prove your skills. No one is going to invest in you unless you can do these things. Considering that you have a poor work history, employers are going to wonder when, and how you honed your skills and if you are worth your high dollar price. Instead of straight out asking for $12 an hour or more, take a lower pay doing what you love until you can prove that you are a worthy asset. Then, after a few months, ask for a raise. By then, an employer will know if you are worth $12 an hour and if they are willing to pay those wages. Many jobs now require a vocational training school or college. You should at least take some classes in welding, photography, woodworking, or logic to show that you are willing to gain new skills required in the workforce. Employers are willing to pay higher wages for someone who has a formal education.

Make it a functional resume, not a chronological resume.
List your strengths, skills, life experiences- and dont focus on dates.
List a skill, how you did it, and, incidentally, the dates. Put your best foot forward, dont apologize for the history. An now once you got a good job, try to hold onto it for a while. And ask people you know if they will give you a good reference. Helps too.

Try to get a job as a waiter/waitress. Even if you have no experience, you can acquire it quickly and can be making a ton of money soon if you do a good job or at least have the customers like you

Just apply for the ones you want and try your hardest to convince them to give you a chance, bs your way into it, basically, I know many people who didn't go to college and didn't do so good at past jobs and have awesome jobs now making $20 or more an hour just by being persuasive and convincing, don't give up...

first off, spell college right---then maybe you could get a job of laboring or cutting grass---that really doesn't take too much intelligence.
