I am 16 weeks pregnant with my first child. All morning I have had a feeling in my stomach like anxiety and then butterflies. Could this be the baby moving?

16 weeks is not too early, they kick and they roll around. 16 weeks is the average starting time for feeling your baby move. It does feel like butterflies, or popcorn popping. Over the next few weeks and months those little butterflies are going to turn into big kicks, rolls, and then by the end you'll be a punching bag.

If this is your first pregnancy you will feel your child moving earlier than others. If it feels like butterflies than yes that most likely is your child moving around. Wonderful feeling isn't it?

It is very likely that you are feeling your baby move. With my first child, I had those same feelings. As your preganancy progresses and your child grows, the movements will become more distinct and definitely more noticeable. I am pregnant with my second child and feeling the baby move is one of my favorite parts of pregnancy. Good luck with your pregnancy. Children are such a blessing.

Thats probably what it is. Some people say you wont feel anything before 20 weeks but I know i felt my baby earlier. I could feel really subtle butterfly fluttering in my stomach when I lie down at night. Congrats...you've experienced quickening. :-)

could be...they say that is what if feels like. It may be a little early though - try changing your activity and see what happens. If you are moving around, sit still and vice versa. That might help you get a better idea.

It really could be...it might be really light movement...but the baby is starting to make his/her presence known. My son started moving somewhere around 16 weeks and he is 18mos old now and he still doesn't keep still!!!
