Like most young, egotistical pro athletes,he thinks he's bullet-proof. Anybody with any common sense wears a helmet;just as they would a seatbelt. It has been proven to save lives, period.Hell, his own coach begged him to wear a helmet.Hard-headed,pompous,know-it-all.Who does he think he is,James Dean? It would serve him right if they released him or at least re-structured his contract with a hefty fine for being an idiot.

I don't think Ben is a "stupid jerk", but he certainly was only thinking of himself when he went without a helmet. As a role model (whether he wants to be or not) and a multi-million dollar investment of the Steelers he should think things through a little better. If he had died due to the accident, would it have been the other drivers fault if he was wearing no helmet?
