OB/GYN stands for obstetrician and gynecology. You should have your first pap test within three years of starting to have sex or by the time you are 21. Some professionals say that you should have a full exam at age 18.

Some girls your age have already seen an OBGYN so that they can get a check up and start birth control. Certainly if you are already sexually active you need to see one now. Having sex can transmit HPV the virus that can cause cervical cancer in women. That's why it's so important to have yearly pap smears. OBGYN stands for (i know i won't get the spelling right) Obstatrician Gynocologist

OB/GYN stands for "obstetrics and gynecology." I didn't start seeing mine until a few months after I turned 18. However, I wasn't and I am still not sexually active. If you are sexually active, you should probably try to get in soon.

OBGYN= obstetrics and Gynecology. Meaning that the doctor deals with not only women's health but delivering babies as well. It is said that you should start to see an OBGYN as soon as you start to have sex or you notice any problems that your regular doctor would tell you to go to one.

It is recommended to have your first gynecological check up at age 18, unless you have become sexually active before you are 18, then you go as soon as you become sexually active. But 18 is the usual time.

Absolutely, you should see one at least when you start your period. You should also be seeing one if you are sexually active and having a yearly PAP exam test done. The doctor also does routine health tests for blood pressure, weight, etc. Make an appointment today.!

OB/GYN stands for obstetrician and gynecologist. An obstetrician births babies while gynecologists are in charge of women's health. Females should start seeing an OB/GYN either when they turn 18 or when they start having sex, which ever comes first.
