I just got a great dress at David's Bridal that was on clearance, it's a halter style type that goes past my knees and layers down with a flamed bottom look it's fuchsia that blends into lite pink and then back into fuchsia. In my opinion something like that would be perfect. It's light, airy and you could always put a suit on (halter style) underneath. I wouldn't wear the top with the dress though.
And remember a party is a place to dress to impress no matter what fools decide to do Cami's YUK! Remember clothes are an expression of who you are and you never know who's gonna be at that party!

Since it's a pool party, I'll assume it's outside. I would wear something cool and comfortable, like a skirt or gauchos and a shirt or tank top. Since it's a beach theme, flip-flops are always acceptable. If you plan on swimming, make sure to bring your swimsuit, change of clothes, and your own towel (just in case). With a beach theme, it's all about light, fun and comfortable. Have a great time!

A pretty sun dress, a summer dress, a skirt.
It will also depend on the time of day. If it's anytime before the evening, you can probably get away with a swimsuit/bikini and a wrap.
Your best bet is to give her a call to make sure she's not offended or does not have a certain dress code in mind.

A nice option would be a floral sundress. Bright hues such as pink, orange, green, light blue would look fabulous. A pair of comfortable wedges with wood or rope heel look great with a sundress, and a sunhat made out of straw would fulfill the beachy theme. Make sure to bring a lightweight cotton button-up cardigan to keep warm while watching the fireworks. Grab a cocktail and you are ready to go!

I'm having the same deal...do this...Go to Gap or Banana Republic (which normally I wouldn't step foot in, but...) because they have fabulous linen dresses that are simple yet elegant. Wear a shell necklace of some sort and be sure to sport a nice even tan. Bring your Tide pen just in case you have a BBQ accident and have lots of fun. Hug the bride-to-be for me.

Sounds like a good time. In this case I would say "less" is in order. Maybe a swimsuit with a short skirt and sleeveless top over it. Bring a bag of clothes (i.e. dockers and a blouse) to change into because in the evening -- it may get cooler and the mosquito's may be eating you up, and don't forget the mosquito repellent.
