Nope. Not until they do away with the offsides rule which will increase the scoring. Americans like scoring. That's one of the reasons that baseball is dying, which is also why they have juiced the ball, and ignored the steroid problem. Anything to pick up the pace, and give people something to cheer about. Also, soccer is too "stat-less". Football, baseball, and basketball are constantly looking to new ways to measure success. Besides a goal or a save, its hard for most to see any "good plays" to get excited about.

I don't think soccer will ever be as big over here as it is in the rest of the world. The very best athletes over here are trying to make a career out of their sport. In the US baseball, football, and basketball is where you will find the biggest paydays and most notoriety, so this is where the young athletes will focus their attention.
It would take about a dozen Freddy Adu's to make soccer popular enough in the US to even turn heads. They would have to make a lot of money and get large amounts of attention from the media. It would have to be big enough in the pro ranks that it would make it popular to play soccer at the junior and high school levels, otherwise it would still be doomed to failure.
Football, basketball, and baseball have built a good 100 years of tradition, so this can't be erased over here overnight and may never be. Its unfortunate, but that is the reality of sports in the US.

No, there are too many other sports which compete with it. Just like Football in America is much more popular than it is in Europe, not to mention most other nations do not even play the sport of Football, so it cannot compete with soccer elsewhere. Baseball is a universal sport as well, but again, it cannot compete in most nations (particularly South American), just like soccer cannot compete with baseball here.

The USA has got to realise that football (the word soccer does not exist in England) is the biggest sport in the world. Over here world cup fever has completely taken over. I bet it isn't getting half as much coverage in the states.

the clarification is that the united statesis an fairly great united states with a lot of persons. with a view to no longer thoroughly disappear among interior the team, being observed is of best significance to individuals. additionally, traditionally the united stateshas by no ability had a actual type device, so as that they've by no ability been conscious of gazing their habit in public, while to talk, while to no longer talk, what's suited to assert and while. they have great components that are from a marginally uncivilized background, the place good manners have been by no ability in call for. The overcrowding ability that it is almost impossible to be observed and to be so, you could desire to be the loudest. individuals have some form of expertise that notwithstanding they could desire to assert, is as significant as what anybody else says and that it is their constitutional suited to be heard. regrettably maximum of them are actually not fact or wisdom oriented. this ability that to them, the numerous component is to be observed and heard, no longer what they are observed or heard for. the only thank you to get observed, once you have no longer something exciting to assert, is to be the loudest, and for this reason the individuals have stepped forward a subculture the place particularly everyone demands to be heard and does so by attempting to be the loudest. this ability there's a persevering with extreme quantity interior the U.S, so as that particularly everyone seems to be continually a million louder, at 11 in case you will. And so, while the very few of them that unquestionably subject to pass out of the country talk they do it interior the way they are used to, loud, unknowing that that's no longer socially properly-known in civilized international locations. in my opinion i think we could desire to continually no longer be too harsh on those we stumble upon in our international locations, for after all they are the few that unquestionably stricken to take a seem at something of the worldwide, and for this they could desire to be recommended...
