Do we have control over our own destiny? Why? Is there a hidden source of power that we can tap into? What?

Do things happen for a reason? If you believe that they do, then how can we have any control over our own destiny?

I think we have limited control over our destiny. If you believe in God then you know that your future has been mapped out and you will follow a certain path
It like having a map your starting at point A and will end at point B how you get there is your free will but you will get there.

Destiny is a beleif system, if you believe that things were meant to happen then you feel assured that your decision was the right one to make for yourself as you can not turn back time or history to adjust the decision made. Destiny and control are opposing arguments. To control ones life you must know all precursers, problems, experiences that lie ahead but as humans we do not have that problem thus we have the absence of control thus if something happens to us we say it was destiny and controlling it is by making a decision that is not provided for you or simply put taking the difficult path in life...but who is to say that destiny did not guide your decison...in short destiny is apart of your informed decision making process if you choose wrong destiny guided you to the choice for a reason...thus you can not have unbiased self made decision without destiny and destiny can not exist wiithout the self...both need and feed off of eachother.

Our lives are played to us before we are born and we have chosen to take the path each of us is on. Our hole life is mapped out and everything happens for a reason there is no such thing as coincidence. Sit down in a quiet room and ask a question, the answers are out there you have just got to look for them.

God already knows where you're going to end up but He gives you a choice and a free will to live how you want to live. If you want to be a rich sucessful doctor then you can be. If you don't care about your life, want to be poor, never work and live in the projects then you can do that too. God gives you that choice, Hes just there to help you in whatever you want to do. Now God does give talents to every individual that he wants you to use to spread his word (example: singing, preaching, writing, etc.) but you can use those talents for good or evil. Its your choice.

God gave us fee will. We make our own choices. But even people in AA admit that if we submit to the higher power (God) our lives become so much more than if we rely on our own understanding.
